Full job description

Our client, a well-established organization located in the heart of Downtown Toronto, is seeking a Collections Specialist to join their team on an initial 6-month contract, with the potential for extension.

This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented collections professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and enjoys solving problems, building client relationships, and improving processes. You'll play a key role in managing outstanding accounts receivable while supporting the implementation of a new billing system.

Compensation, Benefits & Perks

$35-$42/hour, based on experience
Initial 6-month contract with strong potential for extension

5 days per week on-site

Responsibilities

Investigate outstanding accounts receivable by reviewing billing records and identifying overdue balances.
Contact clients to follow up on outstanding invoices and ensure timely payment.
Manage a high volume of outbound collection calls while maintaining professionalism and strong customer relationships.
Accurately document all client communications, collection efforts, and account updates throughout the process.
Track outstanding receivables manually while supporting business operations prior to the implementation of a new billing system.
Prepare and maintain detailed reports in Excel to monitor collection activity and account status.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including sales and finance teams, to resolve billing discrepancies and outstanding account issues.
Maintain accurate records and ensure all collection activities are completed in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

2-4 years of accounts receivable and collections experience.
Proven experience managing a high volume of outbound collection calls.
Confident, proactive personality with the ability to have difficult conversations while maintaining positive client relationships.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong documentation skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including creating and maintaining reports.
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Experience working in a high-volume, transactional environment is considered an asset.
Previous experience collaborating with sales teams to resolve customer account issues is considered an asset.
Available to start as soon as possible.
