Job Title: Dietary Aide
Status: Temporary Part Time (6 months)
Department: Patient Food Services -Oshawa
Program: Food Services
Days, Evenings, Weekends; 4 and 8 Hour Shifts (Subject to Change)
Location: Lakeridge Health Oshawa
Wage Schedule: $27.030 - $28.330 per hour

This position is open to all qualified CUPE staff throughout Lakeridge Health commencing 1 September 2026 and closing at 11:59 pm on 9 September 2026.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

To provide and promote safety and well-being of clients, meeting or exceeding the patient's expectations in a service role. Meal and nourishment delivery and pick up, food assembly; ware washing; cleaning and sanitizing of work area and equipment; adhering to safe food handling and sanitation practices; storing supplies through established procedures; working effectively on a team; and other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Food Handler's training and certification is required;
Previous food preparation and/or food service experience;
Proven working knowledge of safe food handling practices and sanitation;
Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills enabling you to effectively interact

with all levels of staff and public and provide good customer service;

Proven ability to work independently and in a team environment;
Physically capable of performing the duties of the position and tasks including bending, turning,

lifting, walking and standing for long periods of time;

Proven good manual dexterity;
Working knowledge of standardized recipes and portion control an asset;
Knowledge in food service sanitizing work areas, equipment, dishes and utensils, an asset;
Must be flexible in terms of availability for weekends, holidays, and for short notice call-in's;
Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Inclusion, Compassion, Innovation, Teamwork and Joy;
Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety

programs and practices, including staff safety, patient safety, environmental safety and participates
in regular in-service education in this area.
