The Loss Prevention/Health and Safety Coordinator for Aspect Retail Logistics Inc. is responsible for coordinating activities related to employee safety at the facility. This position provides technical and administrative direction on all Safety and Security decisions, which have critical importance to Aspect Retail Logistics objectives and operations.

Education and Experience

Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent
Possess a minimum of two (2) years experience in the Health and Safety and/or Security field with a focus in logistics industry
Knowledge of the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulation for Industrial Environments, WHMIS Regulation, and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act.
Valid Certification JHSC Members Certificate would be considered asset
Excellent meeting/training facilitation, communication and English written skills
Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
Possess the ability to work independently and cooperatively as part of a team
Experience in a unionized environment

Key Responsibilities

Environmental Compliance
Ensure the facility complies with all applicable environmental laws, regulations, and company policies.
Monitor waste management, recycling, hazardous materials handling, and environmental reporting requirements.
Conduct routine environmental inspections and implement corrective actions where necessary.
Maintain accurate environmental records and support regulatory audits and inspections.
Food Safety
Oversee the implementation and maintenance of food safety programs, policies, and procedures.
Ensure compliance with applicable food safety standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
Conduct regular food safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
Investigate food safety incidents, implement corrective and preventive actions, and promote continuous improvement.
Coordinate employee training on food safety practices and maintain required documentation.
Health and Safety
Lead the organization's occupational health and safety program to ensure a safe working environment.
Conduct workplace inspections, hazard assessments, and risk evaluations.
Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies, procedures, and training programs.
Investigate workplace incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
Monitor compliance with legislative requirements and company safety standards while fostering a strong safety culture.
WSIB (Workplace Safety and Insurance Board) Administration
Manage all WSIB claims from initial reporting through resolution.
Coordinate return-to-work and modified work programs in collaboration with managers and employees.
Maintain accurate injury and claim documentation and ensure timely reporting.
Monitor claim costs and identify opportunities to reduce workplace injuries and improve claim outcomes.
Act as the primary liaison with WSIB representatives and healthcare providers.
Sanitation
Develop, implement, and monitor sanitation programs to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
Verify cleaning schedules, sanitation procedures, and documentation are completed accurately.
Conduct sanitation inspections and audits to identify opportunities for improvement.
Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to maintain hygienic facility conditions.
Support validation and verification of sanitation effectiveness.
Pest Control
Manage the facility's integrated pest management (IPM) program.
Coordinate with external pest control service providers to ensure effective monitoring and treatment.
Review pest activity reports, investigate trends, and implement corrective actions.
Ensure pest control devices, monitoring stations, and documentation comply with food safety and regulatory requirements.
Support internal and external audits related to pest management.
Asset Protection & Contract Security
Oversee facility security programs to safeguard employees, visitors, equipment, inventory, and company assets.
Manage relationships with third-party contract security providers and ensure contractual service levels are met.
Monitor access control systems, visitor management, alarm systems, and security procedures.
Investigate security incidents, theft, or property damage and recommend preventive measures.
Develop and maintain emergency response, incident reporting, and facility security protocols.
Conduct periodic security assessments and implement improvements to reduce operational risk.

Schedule:

Afternoon shift 03:00 hrs – 11:00 hrs

Pay: $45,500.00-$47,000.00 per year
