Full job description

The Digestive Health Clinic is a specialist medical clinic with a full service endoscopy suite. We provide services in gastroenterology, hepatology, internal medicine and hematology. Established in 2007, the Digestive Health Clinic strives to be the premier, out of hospital, endoscopy clinic in the community.

We are currently looking for a Registered Nurse to join our Pickering Clinic.

Reporting to the Clinic Manager, the RN will be responsible for all departmental functions in support of DHC’s mission, vision and goals. The Clinic Manager is accountable for effective operations (nursing & administrative), utilization management, health & safety, risk management and providing a productive and supportive working environment for staff and patients.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Pre and Post Endoscopy assessment and monitoring
Assist with procedures in the Endoscopy Suite
Work closely with the Clinic Manager to ensure the following business areas are operating effectively, efficiently and within all regulatory requirements: Operations (nursing & administrative); Scheduling/Billing; Marketing & Business Development; Finance; IT; Human Resources; Quality Advisory and Facilities Management
Ensure optimal clinic flow; a high level of customer service and compliance with all relevant regulations
Ensure staff perform duties in an effective, efficient and professional manner
Maintain open lines of communication at all levels of the organization
Promote a strong occupational safety focus

Skills & Qualifications:

Registered Nurse with current certificate of competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario
BScN or equivalent
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (asset but not required). Will be required to apply to ACLS course.
Proven leadership ability is essential and a minimum 3 years of supervisory experience is preferred
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal & written)
Demonstrated effective problem-solving skills, the ability to take initiative
The ability to create a team, a passion for achieving results and a commitment to customer service excellence are required
Competency in MS Office or equivalent computer skills
