Reporting to the Director, Community Capital Development, the Fundraising Coordinator is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of fundraising campaigns and events that advance CCD’s community impact and engagement efforts. This role develops promotional and donor engagement materials, coordinates event logistics, builds relationships with sponsors and community partners, and supports marketing and outreach initiatives. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and represent CCD in a professional and positive manner.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Fundraising Event Support
- Plans, implements, and reviews fundraising events;
- Develops the content for the online fundraising platform, including sponsorship/participant packages and associated promotional/event content;
- Arranges venue for fundraising event and secures required permits/insurance;
External Vendor Coordination
- Liaises with selected vendor to ensure campaign material printed and distributed according to specifications and timeline;
- Reaches out to local businesses and organizations to secure sponsorships /in-kind donations for fundraising events;
- Recruits participants for fundraising events;
Campaign Planning
- Assists in the development and implementation of marketing initiatives to promote campaigns including social media;
- Explores ongoing opportunities for CCD fundraising;
- Develops the content for mailouts and community engagement components by compiling stats, photos, creating message, etc., for Spring and Winter Campaigns;
Donor Stewardship
- Coordinates stewardship and recognition activities for donations and sponsorships received, in accordance with CCD policies and procedures;
- Acts as a representative of CCD at external promotional or information events/presentations;
- Connects with potential businesses/organizational donors and follows-up as required;
Administration
- Responds to email and telephone enquiries about the fundraiser;
- Provides primary implementation support during the actual fundraising event;
- Compiles detailed documentation of all aspects of the campaigns and fundraisers and assists in post-event review to inform future fundraising planning.
Qualifications required:
- Post secondary education in Fundraising, Event Planning and Administration, Marketing, or related fields of study
- Combination of education and experience in fundraising and marketing is an asset
- Experience in DonorPerfect, Raisin is an asset
- Advanced Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, while building positive relationships with staff, volunteers, donors, sponsors, and community partners
- Strong organizational and time management sills, with the ability to manage priorities
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in preparing correspondence, event materials, donor records, and reports
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to take initiative, work independently, and contribute to the successful execution of fundraising activities and events;
- Sensitivity to the needs of the vulnerable population with disabilities, including challenges in cognition
- Satisfactory Police Record Check
- Must work in a safe manner and promote the health and safety of all staff, volunteers, clients and the community as outlined within CCD policies
Compensation and Benefits: $47,000 - $54,000 annually;
- Three (3) weeks’ vacation per year of work (pro-rated to hours worked);
- Six (6) paid sick days per year of work (pro-rated to hours worked);
- Nine (9) paid (including stat) holidays;
- Three (3) float days (when eligible);
- Health, dental, life insurance, and pension benefits when eligible.
Work Location: Whitby, ON
*Subject to change, CCD staff may be required to work anywhere throughout the Durham Region
Hours of Work: 8:30am – 4:30pm, Monday to Friday (35 hours/per week)
* Occasional flexibility in scheduling may be required to support fundraising events
