Full job description

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Pay Rate: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to join our team in Pickering, Ontario. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background, experience with QuickBooks and/or QuickBooks Enterprise, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel. This role will support day-to-day accounting operations and assist with maintaining accurate financial records.

Responsibilities

Perform accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
Process invoices, payments, and expense reports
Reconcile bank, credit card, and general ledger accounts
Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures
Prepare financial reports and accounting summaries
Enter and verify accounting data in QuickBooks and/or QuickBooks Enterprise
Support payroll processing and related recordkeeping
Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures
Assist with audits and other financial reviews as required

Qualifications

Accounting diploma, degree, or equivalent accounting education
Relevant accounting certifications are considered an asset
Previous experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role
Hands-on experience with QuickBooks and/or QuickBooks Enterprise
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
