SPC Mulberry Meadows - 99 Barnham St. Ajax, ON

Work Term:

Part-Time Sessional (hours vary)

September - June

Compensation:

$21.00/hour

The Position:

Reporting to the Supervisor of Camp & Community Development and/or the Program Manager of Childcare & Community Development, Community Program Facilitators are responsible for planning and implementing recreational community-based programs for children and youth. The Community Program Facilitator may also have opportunities to plan/facilitate special event programming and birthday parties. Responsibilities

Ensure the delivery of high-quality recreational programs that are aligned with the philosophy of SPC and meet the expectations of HIGH FIVE®
Fully and enthusiastically participate in all activities, while being a positive role model and reflecting the values of the organization
Recognize and celebrate the uniqueness of all children, and create an environment where participants will feel included and experience success
Maintain a positive and professional approach and image with SPC colleagues, families, community members and partners
Adhere to the program structure and guidelines as outlined, plan and facilitate programs, and access program resources and support from the supervisor and manager
Ensure family inquiries and concerns are shared with supervisor and/or manager to ensure prompt follow up
Attend and fully participate in all employee orientation, training and meetings as outlined

Qualifications, Education and Experience

Minimum of 17 years old
Post-Secondary enrolment in a relevant field is an asset (i.e. CYW, OCT, Recreation and Leisure, Recreation Leadership, Outdoor Education)
Previous experience working with children in a recreational or camp setting is an asset
Valid up to date Intermediate First Aid with CPR (previously Standard First Aid w/CPR) *prior to the start of contract
Must be able to commit to the days/hour of the shift, and for the full duration of the program (programs are sessional)
