Full job description

INB Family Law has an excellent full-time opportunity for a Legal Assistant/Receptionist to join our friendly, collaborative team. The ideal candidate has excellent communication and people skills, is reliable, and interacts well with clients, coworkers, and outside service providers. The ideal candidate will have some experience in a law office or professional services office, but this is not a requirement.

Key Responsibilities:

Managing the phone system — answering, screening, and directing calls promptly and professionally
Greet clients and visitors, providing a welcoming first point of contact for the office
Schedule and coordinate meetings and appointments
Scan, print, copy, and prepare documents as needed
Organize and maintain physical and digital files, records, and office materials
Handle incoming and outgoing mail and courier deliveries
Provide general administrative support to the legal team

Skills We're Looking For:

Organizational Skills - ability to schedule meetings, manage files, and juggle competing priorities
Strong Communication Skills - ability to answer calls and correspondence promptly and effectively
Adaptability - able to manage varying workloads, multitask, and take initiative when needed
Confident and Dependable - able to work both independently and as part of a team
Problem-Solving - analytical thinking and sound judgment when issues arise

Job Type: Full-time

Experience: Legal assistant: two years (preferred)

Work Location: In-person in Oshawa, ON
