Journeyman Electrician – FIFO Northern Projects

$45–$52/hour + Overtime + Generous Living Out Allowance

What You’ll Get

$45 - $52 per hour + OT
2 Weeks On / 2 Weeks Off rotation
12-hour shifts while on rotation = excellent OT earnings
Generous Living Out Allowance (LOA)
Travel and accommodations arranged and fully paid by employer
Permanent full-time employment
Work on unique solar power projects in the Yukon & Northwest Territories

What You’ll Do

Install renewable energy systems at commercial and utility scales - microgrid, battery and wind projects
Troubleshoot malfunctioning grid-tied and off-grid renewable energy systems
Commission residential and commercial solar systems
Utilize online monitoring for system performance, safety, client understanding and QA/QC
Mentor Apprentices
Travel to Nunavut and NWT on various projects

What You’ll Bring

Red Seal Journeyman Electrician with 3 + years of ticketed experience
Ontario-based residence
Commercial electrical background
Experience working with energized electrical equipment
Experience mentoring Apprentices
Solar installation experience is an added advantage
Comfortable working rotational FIFO schedule in remote northern locations

Nunavut, a vast territory in northern Canada, encompasses most of the Canadian Arctic and the traditional lands of the Inuit. Nunavut means "Our Land" in Inuktitut, the language of the Inuit. Nunavut is home to the Arctic Big Five. Namely Polar Bears, Musk Ox, Belugas, Walruses and the exclusive Narwhal. For these reasons, it is an incredible place to come and see the world’s most remarkable arctic animals and marine life in their natural habitat. Experiences and sightings depend greatly on season and location. Early spring offers opportunities to see Polar Bears roaming the Floe Edge. While summer and fall are usually the best times to spot Narwhals and Beluga in high Arctic locations such as Resolute Bay. Narwhals can also be spotted near the shores of Pond Inlet and Arctic Bay. Muskox and Caribou can be found in communities such as Baker Lake, Cambridge Bay, Gjoa Haven to name a few.
