Full job description

Position: Sous Chef
Location: Bella Notte Ristorante, Whitby, ON

Bella Notte Ristorante, an upscale rustic Italian dining experience in the heart of Whitby, is seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our team. We pride ourselves on exceptional cuisine, a warm atmosphere, and a dedication to quality.

Responsibilities:

Assist the Executive Chef in kitchen operations, including prep, cooking, plating, and maintaining high standards.
Lead kitchen staff in the absence of the Executive Chef.
Ensure consistency in quality and presentation.
Manage inventory and assist with ordering.
Uphold all health, safety, and sanitation standards.
Contribute to menu development and seasonal features.

Qualifications:

3+ years of experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role.
Strong knowledge of Italian cuisine and a passion for creating memorable dishes.
Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor kitchen staff.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Food Handler’s certification (or ability to obtain one).
