Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic to join our Tayco division. In this role, you will support our paving operations by diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy equipment and trucks used daily by our crews. You’ll play an essential part in keeping our operations safe, efficient, and ready to roll.

Key Responsibilities

Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools
Perform repairs and maintenance on equipment such as loaders, pavers, rollers, trucks, milling machines, and related machinery
Assemble, disassemble, and replace mechanical components as required
Conduct routine inspections to proactively identify issues
Utilize hand tools and diagnostic equipment accurately and safely
Communicate clearly with supervisors and crew members regarding repair needs and timelines
Maintain complete and accurate service and repair records
Work collaboratively to ensure all equipment meets safety and operational standards

Qualifications

Red Seal Certification
Proven experience working with heavy equipment in the roadbuilding or construction industry
Strong mechanical knowledge, particularly in hydraulics and mobile equipment systems
Ability to read and interpret schematics for troubleshooting
Proficiency with hand tools and diagnostic equipment
Strong communication skills and a customer-service approach
Valid driver’s license and clean abstract

Education

Skilled Trade Certificate — required

Experience

2+ years as a Heavy Duty Mechanic (preferred)
