Job Overview

We are seeking an Experienced Baker & Pastry Chef to join our dynamic culinary team, JJ Bakes Company. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking and pastry arts, with a strong background in food preparation and cake decorating. This role involves creating high-quality baked goods and desserts, ensuring food safety standards are met, and delivering exceptional service to our customers. The position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your baking skills in a fast-paced, creative environment dedicated to excellence in the food industry.

Duties

Prepare and bake a variety of baked goods, including cakes, pastries, bread, and other desserts with precision and creativity
Decorate cakes and pastries using advanced cake decorating techniques to meet presentation standards
Ensure all food preparation complies with food safety and handling regulations
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper packaging of baked items for sale or delivery
Assist in menu development by suggesting new recipes and seasonal offerings
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely production and delivery of baked goods during peak hours

Qualifications

Proven experience as a baker or pastry chef in a restaurant or bakery setting
Strong skills in cake decorating, food preparation, cooking, and baking techniques
Knowledge of food handling procedures and food safety standards
Experience with packaging baked goods for retail or catering purposes
Excellent attention to detail and creativity in presentation
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude
Kitchen experience within the food industry is preferred but not mandatory; enthusiasm for learning is essential
