Bookkeeper (Part-Time, Hybrid)

Arbutus Ridge Golf Club is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Bookkeeper to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys working independently while supporting a dynamic golf, hospitality, and events operation.
This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, allowing a combination of remote work and occasional on-site attendance for meetings, reconciliations, and operational support.
Position Details
- Position: Bookkeeper
- Location: Arbutus Ridge Golf Club, Cobble Hill, BC
- Schedule: 25–30 hours per week
- Compensation start : $30.00 per hour
- Work Arrangement: Hybrid ( primarily office, with remote work available)
- Benefits: Eligible after three months of employment
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records and general ledger entries
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Perform bank, credit card, and merchant account reconciliations
- Process payroll and maintain payroll records
- Prepare GST/PST remittances and other government filings
- Assist with month-end and year-end financial reporting
- Maintain vendor files and process invoices
- Reconcile membership payments and customer accounts
- Assist with budgeting and financial reporting as required
- Support external accountants during year-end preparation
- Ensure confidentiality and accuracy of all financial information
Qualifications
- Minimum 2years of bookkeeping experience
- Diploma or certificate in Accounting or Bookkeeping preferred
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, ADP, POS Systems or similar)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Experience in hospitality, golf, recreation, or service industries is considered an asset.
