Full job description

Careit Urban Deli is a small, food retail store in West Edmonton. We are inviting a friendly and professional individual to join our Crestwood store as part of our Front-of-House team.

In this role, you will assist in the merchandizing of fresh products and speciality retail goods, creating made-to-order sandwiches, and maintaining cleanliness of the retail space.

We pride ourselves in being knowledgeable about food, especially our products. In your role, you will provide excellent customer service by advising customers on selections and preparation. You will ensure the store is tidy and well stocked at all times. Throughout the store you will build displays, stock merchandise, refresh the butcher-case, and rotate products in accordance with expiry dates. Food prepared by the kitchen will be properly packaged and put out for display. Our sandwiches are made-to-order, you will be responsible for this area. The sandwich station requires cutting of vegetable, slicing meats, refilling condiments, preparing orders, and overall cleaning and sanitation. We are a small company and therefore all staff need to be team players to have the company run successfully.

You will be the first point of contact with our customers and the face of the store. Our Front-of-House staff require a polite, friendly and patient demeanor as well as a well-groomed appearance. Our little deli can become busy at times and you may find yourself juggling building sandwiches while providing dinner advice, our ideal candidate can flourish under pressure while providing excellent customer service. The deli is open everyday, your schedule is flexible but Monday to Friday, 3:00pm to 7:00pm, shifts are required in this position.

Careit Urban Deli was founded in 2008 on a love of comfort food created with quality ingredients. Owners and Chefs Cam and Louis are both NAIT alumni with Red-Seal designation and young families. The company focuses on to-go meals, salads and soups as well as made-to-order sandwiches and house butchered meats. Compensation is based on experience and amount of responsibility you are willing to take on. We are a small company that builds itself around the talents of our staff and are looking for someone to grow with the Careit family.
