Its network of metals service centers carries an extensive line of metal products in a wide range of sizes, shapes and specifications, including carbon hot rolled and cold finished steel, pipe and tubular products, stainless steel, aluminum and other non-ferrous specialty metals. Its energy field stores carry a specialized product line focused on the needs of energy industry customers. Its steel distributors operations act as master distributors selling steel in large volumes to other steel service centers and large equipment manufacturers mainly on an "as is" basis.

We are currently seeking motivated individuals for the positions of Press Brake operators within our Surrey, BC location. This is a full-time, permanent position.

Branch Address: 8250 130 Street, Surrey, BC, V3W 8J9

Shift work is required = Rotating Shifts.

Please note - our work environment is safety sensitive and will require the successful applicant to undergo a pre-employment medical and drug evaluation (including cannabis).

Roles and Responsibilities:

Ensure safe procedures are followed while performing job responsibilities
Comply with workplace policies and procedures (operational and health and safety)
Program, set up, and operate press brake while following safe work procedures and practices
Read and interpret customer blueprints and lay out material for forming parts
Form products within established tolerances and to customer specifications
Complete in-process quality checks to ensure accuracy is within shop tolerance
Ensure safe procedures are followed while performing job responsibilities
Maintain an organized inventory and performs inventory counts as required
Handle heavy material using overhead cranes, forklifts or other material handling equipment in a safe and responsible manner while loading/unloading the machine
Perform daily preventative maintenance checks and report any unsafe processes or equipment
Work with the Scheduling Department to ensure that daily production and on time requirements are met
Any other tasks that may be assigned by management

Education and Skills Required:

Grade 12 or equivalent
Must be willing to work rotating shifts
Ability to read, write and understand English
Ability to operate the overhead cranes and forklift
Proficient in performing mathematical calculations with ability to read a tape measure and calipers
Self-motivated, results oriented
