Full job description

Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head Server/Supervisor to lead our front-of-house team in delivering exceptional guest experiences. This role requires a strong background in food service, customer service, and restaurant operations. The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership skills, a thorough understanding of food safety and sanitation standards, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently. As a key member of our team, you will oversee daily service operations, ensure high-quality service standards, and support staff development to create a welcoming and efficient environment for our guests.

Duties

Supervise and coordinate the activities of servers and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth restaurant operations.
Provide excellent guest services by addressing customer needs promptly and professionally.
Oversee food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures in compliance with health regulations.
Manage POS systems, including Micros POS, for order processing, cashiering, and cash handling.
Assist with serving guests, upselling menu items to increase sales, and ensuring timely delivery of food and beverages.
Monitor table assignments, seating arrangements, and reservation management to optimize service flow.
Train new staff on restaurant policies, food safety protocols, and customer service standards.
Handle guest complaints or concerns with professionalism to maintain high satisfaction levels.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout the restaurant environment.
Support kitchen staff with basic food preparation when necessary and coordinate between front-of-house and kitchen teams.

Experience

Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, preferably in supervisory roles such as head server or lead waiter.
Strong knowledge of POS systems, especially Micros POS, along with cash handling experience.
Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask effectively during busy periods.
Familiarity with food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures.
Prior experience in hospitality or guest services is highly desirable.
Ability to perform basic math calculations for billing and inventory purposes accurately.
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate team members and manage staff schedules efficiently.
Experience with upselling techniques to enhance sales opportunities within the restaurant setting.
