About Highland Valley Copper

Highland Valley Copper (HVC) Operations is Canada’s largest open-pit copper mine and molybdenum operation. HVC produces both copper and molybdenum concentrate through autogenous and semi-autogenous grinding and flotation.

Located approximately 17 kilometers west of Logan Lake and about 50 kilometers southwest of Kamloops in British Columbia, the surrounding areas of HVC have an abundant offering of outdoor experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain and repair advanced mobile mining equipment: haul trucks (including autonomous CAT trucks), loaders, graders, dozers, and shovels
Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues in a dynamic operational environment
Disassemble, inspect, and rebuild key systems including engines, transmissions, and cooling components
Work as part of a safety-first, high-performance team that supports growth, innovation, and collaboration
Promote and uphold Teck's culture of safety every day

Qualifications

Interprovincial Red Seal Certification as a Heavy Duty Equipment Technician or Truck & Transport Mechanic
Valid driver's license
Experience with mining or heavy off-road equipment is an asset, but we welcome candidates with transferable skills and a willingness to learn
Strong communication, a team-focused mindset, and a commitment to safety and quality

Working Conditions:

Location: Highland Valley Copper is a 50-minute drive from Kamloops, which has all of the comforts of city living and is also close to Merritt, Ashcroft, and Logan Lake, which all exude a small town community atmosphere.
Access: This is a drive-in/drive-out role. Most employees commute to site by car, and carpooling is common among team members.
