Full job description

FK LLP (https://fkllp.ca/) is a growing 14 partner full-service professional services firm that is seeking a qualified Accounting Technician to join their growing team. The firm has been around since the 1960’s and enjoys a diverse set of clients ranging from entertainment, real estate development, financial services and owner-managed businesses.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial services, payroll, and account reconciliation. Knowledge of software such as TaxPrep, iFirm, Quickbooks, and Caseware/Caseview is highly desirable.

Responsibilities:

o Complete working paper files for compilation, review and audits including all required forms, adjusting journal entries and draft financial statements

o Prepare T1s, T2s, T3s, T4s, T5s, GST/HST returns and partnership returns (T5013)

o Bookkeeping with software packages such as Quickbooks and Simply Accounting

o Provide support to clients on general questions regarding year end and bookkeeping issues

o Research tax issues and deal with CRA on client matters

o Willingness to take on various tasks and manage a number of assignments at any one time

o Desire to work on a variety of client industries

o Strong organizational skills

Requirements:

o Experience in a public accounting firm a bonus

o Proficiency in Microsoft Office computer programs (Excel and Word)

o Previous experience in Caseware/CaseView, Taxprep, Quickbooks, Simply Accounting computer programs preferred
o Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations
o Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
o Knowledge of account analysis and reconciliation procedures
o Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
