Connecting to Careers in Biomanufacturing is a bridge training program that helps internationally trained newcomers with backgrounds in life sciences secure meaningful employment in Ontario’s growing biomanufacturing sector. The program responds to the sector’s urgent need for skilled technicians by preparing mid-skill workers for in-demand roles in this growing industry. This industry-informed program includes technical training, futureproofing, mentoring, coaching, personal branding, and employment placement support to help participants complete their training and transition successfully into demand-driven occupations
The position of Employer Liaison is mainly responsible for creating employment opportunities for ACCES clients in our Connecting to Careers in Biomanufacturing Program. The individual in this role will work in collaboration with the ACCES Employment Consulting team and all community partner agencies and employers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop and implement marketing and outreach strategy to employers.
Liaise with community professionals and employers to create competitive jobs and employment opportunities.
Monitor all placements, oversee training plan development, and conduct on-going follow-up to ensure successful employment outcomes for program participants.
Integrate work with all ACCES staff, particularly with the Employment Consultant team.
Provide employment preparation and employability group sessions and individual resource center support when required.
Provide culturally sensitive employment services including intake and assessment, individualized and group employment counselling, and referrals when required.
Arrange job fairs and networking events.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

Business Degree or equivalent
3 or more years’ experience in job development, employer outreach, employment counseling, and/or recruitment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Understanding of labor market information and trends
Experience in the not-for-profit sector and/or employment sector is preferred
Demonstrated ability to work and co-operate in a team
Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills
Able to facilitate group activities
Effective networking skills and relationship building experience
Experienced and highly proficient working in an MS Office environment and with online virtual meeting platforms such as Zoom, WebEx and Microsoft Teams.
Knowledge of/experience working with internationally trained professionals, new immigrants, and sector-specific employers
Experience in business development, sales, and B2B recruitment is considered an asset
Knowledge and understanding of the manufacturing industry is an asset
Flexible to work occasional evenings and weekend hours

Job status: Unionized
Contract Duration: 1-year contract with opportunity for extension
Salary: $59,658.42 per annum (as per Union salary grid), prorated to contract duration

We are currently on a hybrid work schedule, working in the office and from home. This hybrid work schedule is subject to change based on business requirements.
