Head Bread Baker — Sandrine French Pastry & Chocolate

Kelowna, British Columbia

Sandrine French Pastry & Chocolate is seeking a world-class Head Bread Baker to lead and help build our expanding artisan bread program in the beautiful Okanagan Valley.

We are not simply looking for experienced bakers — we are searching for someone obsessively passionate about building one of the world’s best bread programs. This role is for a visionary leader who can inspire and develop a team, elevate standards, and help create a truly elite artisan bread operation from the ground up.

We are looking for someone passionate about authentic French bread, fermentation, craftsmanship, innovation, and production excellence. This is a leadership role within one of Western Canada’s premier French patisserie brands.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical ability with exceptional leadership skills and a relentless drive for excellence. They should have experience leading teams, building systems, scaling production, and maintaining uncompromising quality standards in a fast-paced premium environment.

Responsibilities:

Lead and oversee daily bread production

Build, lead, and inspire a high-performing bread team

Help develop and execute a world-class artisan bread program

Develop and maintain elite artisan bread standards

Train and mentor assistant bakers

Manage fermentation schedules and production systems

Maintain consistency, organization, and cleanliness

Assist in scaling wholesale and retail bread production

Work closely with ownership on future growth and product development

Qualifications:

Deep passion for artisan bread and creating exceptional products

Strong leadership and team-building abilities

Strong artisan bread baking experience preferred

French bakery or European-style bread experience preferred

Production management and organizational skills

Passion for craftsmanship and premium hospitality

Ability to work early mornings and thrive in a fast-paced environment

Experience with levain, baguettes, country loaves, viennoiserie, and traditional fermentation methods preferred

Entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to help build an elite bread program

Compensation:

$80,000–$95,000 annually depending on experience
