Class One Truck Driver/Heavy Equipment Hauler

Overview:

Ruby Rock Group is seeking an experienced Class 1 Truck Driver as a Heavy Equipment Hauler for the 2026 construction season. We take pride in operating a well-maintained, newer high-end fleet of trucks and equipment, and we are looking for individuals who share the same standards of professionalism, safety, and care for equipment.

Applicants must have experience as a Heavy Equipment Hauler in Alberta and is responsible for safely transporting, loading, securing, and unloading heavy machinery across job sites. Having experience operating combinations such as Truck & Pup, End Dumps, Wagons, and Live Bottom Trailers is considered a strong asset.

QUALIFICATIONS

Possess a valid class 1 driver’s license and have a clean driver’s abstract.
Experience as a heavy equipment hauler
Be over 25 years old
Possess a valid airbrakes certificate
Detail oriented and organized
Flexible to work some weekends
Knowledge of construction hauling of asphalt or gravel

KEY COMPETENCIES

Ability to understand oral and written instructions.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Ability to communicate effectively with the public, supervisors and coworkers.
Ability to work cooperatively with the management team and support other departments.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations
Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections on truck and trailer
Load, secure, and unload heavy equipment, ensuring safety of the load
Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform minor maintenance when required
Operate equipment safely and in compliance with all road laws and regulations
Communicate effectively with dispatch, foremen, asphalt plants, gravel pits, and subcontractors
Assist with additional duties as assigned

SAFETY

Wear required PPE including but not limited to hard hats, gloves, reflective vests, hearing and eye protection and protective footwear
