Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Kitchen Manager/Head Chef to lead our culinary team and oversee all kitchen operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive food industry knowledge, and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences. This role involves managing food preparation, ensuring food safety standards, supervising staff, and maintaining a high level of restaurant service excellence. The Kitchen Manager/Head Chef will play a vital role in creating a welcoming environment for both staff and guests while maintaining efficient kitchen workflows.

Duties

Supervise and manage kitchen staff, including cooks and food service personnel, ensuring smooth daily operations
Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to meet quality standards and customer expectations
Develop and update menus in collaboration with management, incorporating innovative dishes and seasonal ingredients
Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and proper handling procedures to maintain hygiene standards
Manage inventory, order supplies, and control food costs to optimize kitchen efficiency
Train new team members on food preparation techniques, safety protocols, and service standards
Monitor kitchen cleanliness and sanitation practices regularly
Lead by example in serving guests with professionalism and hospitality
Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery during peak hours
Maintain a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, leadership, and continuous improvement

Qualifications

Proven supervising experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting, preferably as a Head Chef or Kitchen Manager
Strong background in food preparation, cooking techniques, and food industry best practices
Extensive restaurant management experience with a focus on team management and leadership skills
Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper handling procedures
Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate staff and foster teamwork
Demonstrated ability to manage inventory, control costs, and oversee daily operations efficiently
Passion for culinary arts with an eye for detail in food presentation and quality assurance
Experience in hospitality or restaurant environments is highly desirable
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced setting while maintaining professionalism
