Full job description

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and creative Pastry Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking and dessert-making, strong attention to detail, and the ability to produce high-quality pastries, cakes, and desserts consistently. This role requires both technical expertise and artistic flair, along with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design, prepare, and present a variety of desserts, pastries, and baked goods
Develop new recipes and seasonal menu items
Ensure consistency in taste, texture, and presentation across all baked items
Manage inventory of baking ingredients
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary pastry station in compliance with health and safety regulations
Train and supervise junior pastry staff or kitchen assistants, if applicable
Collaborate with the front-of-house team on dessert menu descriptions and presentation standards
Stay current with pastry trends, techniques, and seasonal ingredients
Ensure all baked goods meet dietary and allergen labeling requirements where applicable

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Pastry Chef, Baker, or similar role in a professional kitchen
Culinary degree or diploma in pastry arts preferred, but not required with sufficient experience
Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, including laminated doughs, chocolate work, sugar work, and plated desserts
Excellent time-management and organizational skills
Ability to work under pressure during peak service hours
Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality and presentation
Knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen sanitation practices
Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Team player with strong communication skills

Pay: $23.00-$28.00 per hour
