About Elevate Service Group
Elevate Service Group Inc. (TSX-V: SERV) is a Toronto-based, publicly listed holding company building a national platform in facilities management and essential commercial services. Elevate acquires and integrates well-run, founder-led businesses that provide electrical services, plumbing, equipment repair, grease trap maintenance, general repairs and renovations, preventative maintenance, and technology-enabled facilities solutions to national retailers, restaurant chains, and property managers across Canada.
The company currently operates six subsidiaries — Infinity Group Construction, First Choice Maintenance, Charged Electric Services, Think Green Solutions, JJ&A Mechanical, and TFI Food Equipment Solutions — and is executing a disciplined roll-up acquisition strategy targeting three to six acquisitions per year. Elevate is currently generating approximately $25 million in EBITDA and has recently upsized a bought-deal equity offering and secured a term sheet for a $25 million acquisition facility to accelerate this strategy. This is a high-growth, high-velocity environment: the finance function is being built in real time alongside the platform it supports.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Vice President, Finance is the senior finance executive responsible for the operational and technical backbone of the finance function across the Elevate platform. This is a hands-on leadership role spanning financial planning & analysis, consolidated public company reporting, treasury and credit facility management, and — critically — the financial due diligence and integration work that underpins a 3-to-6-acquisition-per-year roll-up strategy. The successful candidate will build repeatable processes and a scalable finance organization capable of absorbing new subsidiaries quickly and cleanly while maintaining the reporting discipline expected of a TSX Venture-listed issuer.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Analysis / Corporate Finance
- Own consolidated budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning across the holding company and all operating subsidiaries.
- Build and maintain financial models supporting acquisition evaluation, capital allocation decisions, and organic growth initiatives.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly management reporting packages, KPI dashboards, and variance analysis for the CEO, CFO, and Board of Directors.
- Partner with operating company presidents and general managers on budget-to-actual performance, margin improvement, and working capital initiatives.
M&A / Roll-Up Execution & Integration
- Lead financial due diligence workstreams on acquisition targets, including quality of earnings analysis, working capital assessment, and normalized EBITDA calculations.
- Partner with the CFO, CEO, and external advisors on deal structuring, purchase price allocation, and closing mechanics.
- Own the post-close financial integration playbook for each newly acquired business — chart of accounts mapping, accounting system onboarding, payroll and banking transition, and internal controls uplift.
- Track and report on acquisition synergies, integration costs, and post-close performance against the original deal model.
- Continuously refine a repeatable, scalable acquisition-to-integration playbook capable of supporting three to six acquisitions per year.
Consolidated Financial Reporting & Public Company Compliance
- Oversee consolidation of financial results across all operating subsidiaries under IFRS, with the subsidiary count expected to grow each year.
- Own preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements, MD&A, and other continuous disclosure filings in coordination with the CFO, external auditors, and legal counsel.
- Ensure compliance with TSX Venture Exchange listing requirements, applicable Canadian securities law, and NI 51-102 continuous disclosure obligations.
- Support the CFO and Audit Committee with quarterly reporting packages, technical accounting memos, and audit committee materials.
- Manage the year-end audit process and day-to-day relationship with the company's external auditors.
Treasury, Banking & Credit Facility Management
- Manage consolidated cash flow forecasting and working capital across the group.
- Own banking relationships and administer the company's credit facilities, including the acquisition facility, ensuring ongoing covenant compliance and timely lender reporting.
- Support capital markets activity (equity financings, debt facilities) with financial modeling, data room preparation, and lender/investor due diligence materials.
Accounting Operations, Controls & Systems
- Build and scale accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls appropriate for a growing multi-entity public company.
- Standardize the chart of accounts, month-end close process, and reporting timelines across all operating subsidiaries.
- Lead the selection and implementation of consolidation and ERP systems to support the platform as it scales.
- Coordinate corporate tax, HST/GST, and payroll tax compliance across all entities with external tax advisors.
Leadership & Team Development
- Build, lead, and mentor a growing corporate finance and accounting team — including Controllers, FP&A, and accounting staff — to keep pace with acquisition volume.
- Act as a trusted finance partner to operating company leadership, fostering financial discipline and accountability across the platform.
- Represent finance on cross-functional deal and integration teams alongside legal, operations, and human resources.
Qualifications & Experience
- CPA designation required; CFA or MBA considered an asset.
- 10–15+ years of progressive finance experience, including at least 3–5 years in a senior finance leadership role (VP Finance, Controller, or Director of Finance) at a publicly listed company.
- Direct, hands-on experience with M&A — due diligence, purchase accounting, and post-acquisition integration; prior experience in a roll-up or multi-entity acquisition platform is strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of IFRS and Canadian public company continuous disclosure requirements (TSX Venture or TSX).
- Experience operating in a holding company / multi-entity structure with consolidation across subsidiaries.
- Prior experience in facilities management, construction, home or commercial services, or another asset-light, people-intensive services industry is an asset.
- Demonstrated people leadership experience, including building and scaling a finance team in a high-growth environment.
- Advanced financial modeling skills and fluency with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, Sage Intacct, QuickBooks Enterprise, or similar) and consolidation tools.
- Comfortable operating in a lean, fast-paced, entrepreneurial public-company environment where the finance function is still being built out.
