Full job description

Job Purpose

The Financial Services Administrator I (FSAI) provides service excellence and fosters relationship building through product knowledge and exemplary support of the member service team, with minimal member contact. This is accomplished by possessing a positive and adaptable approach, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to build effective relationships both within the organization and externally with member and vendor interactions. The FSAI provides administrative support for document completions and processing for all Account Managers, handles loan related documentation, as well as providing backup for other financial services team members when required, while adhering to all related security, risk, privacy, and compliance procedures and policies.

The Cascadia Credit Union (CCU) FSA I plays an essential role as back-office support on the branch team and is dedicated to supporting our front-line member service staff with an exceptional level of service toward all staff, members, and other business affiliates.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

· Provides knowledgeable member service in various capacities including, but not limited to, opening, modifying, or closing accounts, estate or trust accounts, sale and withdrawal of registered products and term deposits, or safety deposit box information,

· Maintains, administers, and facilitates broker renewals, registered products, and loan securities for consumer products,

· Working with all CCU staff, adopts, implements, and maintains the best practices from established practices, procedures, and policies,

· Conducts credit investigations and searches as required,

· Serves, informs, and educates Members with respect to their financial goals and opportunities through the provision of ongoing financial services, KYC annual reviews and other applicable compliance-mandated processes, and/or other Member contact processes, including routine merchant Mastercard inquiries, or refers to Merchant Solutions as required,

· Processes documents received from Account Manager areas, as required,

· Keeps apprised of changing rules and regulations pertaining to relevant legislation requirements, as well as keeping a current knowledge of all CCU lending, and deposit products and services,

· Resolves problems with member accounts and deposit instruments, inputs data into computer systems to reflect deposit product changes,

· Ensures all documentation pertaining to accounts or products and services is prepared and/or executed in accordance with established policies, procedures, and relevant legislation,

· Maintains up to date and complete Member files with documentation in hardcopy and/or in approved electronic form as required,

· Provides lending support as needed, including processing, posting, reviewing, and verification of loan applications and related documentation to ensure accuracy in computerized loan systems and manual/digital paperwork completion, or other related tasks providing appropriate documentation preparation, correction, and processing within appropriate relative risk, legislation and/ or regulations,

· Displays confidence and exercises sound judgement in decision making,

· Demonstrates and maintains a high level of risk management knowledge and ensures adherence to all legislative, security, compliance, and regulatory requirements (e.g., Privacy, Money Laundering),

· Performs additional responsibilities aligned with team goals as assigned.

Skills & Attributes

· Demonstrates a good knowledge and growing aptitude for computer-based literacy skills and technology, including MS Windows and Office program environments, as well as the banking and lending systems,

· Displays strong awareness of policies, procedures, and practices, especially as they relate to a lending environment, to ensure requirements are met and improved as identified,

· Understanding and confident ability to deal with lending, deposit, and insurance products,

· Committed to personal growth and development. Responsible for ensuring skills and knowledge are up to date to meet industry and position requirements,

· Passion for delivering exceptional member/client service and dedicated to building strong relationships and connections in the community,

· Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities and a willingness to tackle new challenges,

· Organizes work and assignment of tasks to maximize efficiency and responsibilities.

Qualifications

· Secondary school diploma

· Minimum one-year post-secondary formal education, or equivalent

· Minimum two (2) years’ experience in financial, retail or hospitality industry

· Maintain proficiency with developing systems, applications, and productivity programs.

· Combined experience and post-secondary education in the areas that are directly related to industry will be considered

· Successful completion of in-house training program and CCUA courses on Products & Services and Retail lending, within established timeframes.
