Nuclear Medicine Technologist (Full-Time or Part-Time)

Healthy Heart Institute – Red Deer, AB

Healthy Heart Institute is seeking a compassionate and motivated Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our growing outpatient cardiology team.

If you're looking for a position where you can focus on providing exceptional patient care in a professional, supportive, and collaborative environment, we'd love to hear from you. We are open to both full-time and part-time applicants and will work with the successful candidate to develop a schedule that meets both your needs and those of the clinic.

Our modern outpatient cardiology clinic offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced cardiologists and healthcare professionals while enjoying an excellent work-life balance.

Responsibilities

Perform high-quality Nuclear Cardiology procedures, including:
Rest and stress myocardial perfusion imaging
Rest MUGA studies
Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols.
Provide patients with clear pre-test instructions and explanations of procedures.
Verify patient identity, preparation, and safety before all examinations.
Maintain patient comfort, dignity, and confidentiality throughout testing.
Perform and document daily quality control procedures.
Maintain equipment according to manufacturer and departmental standards.
Safely handle, store, and dispose of radioactive materials in accordance with CNSC regulations.
Maintain accurate documentation and regulatory records.
Comply with all applicable professional, provincial, and federal regulations.
Work collaboratively with physicians and fellow healthcare professionals to deliver outstanding patient care.
Participate in quality improvement and continuing education initiatives.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
Current registration and member in good standing with CAMRT and ACMDTT.
Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
Nuclear Cardiology experience is an asset but is not required.
