Overview

The MacKenzie Village Food and Beverage group is Opening Bella Vita this November, an Italian themed, elevated dining experience in Revelstoke BC. We are seeking an energetic and highly skilled Senior Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with the Executive Chef to oversee daily kitchen operations, ensure exceptional food quality, and maintain a vibrant, efficient work environment. Your leadership will inspire your team to deliver memorable dining experiences, uphold the highest standards of food safety, and foster a positive, team-oriented atmosphere. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate culinary professional eager to elevate their career in a fast-paced, hospitality-focused setting.

Responsibilities

Assist in managing all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency and excellence.
Supervise and mentor kitchen staff, including line cooks and prep cooks, fostering teamwork and professional growth.
Oversee food handling procedures to guarantee compliance with safety standards and regulations.
Support the development of new menu items, recipes, and plating techniques that align with brand standards.
Maintain high levels of cleanliness and organization within the kitchen environment.
Collaborate with restaurant management on inventory control, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste.
Ensure all food service activities adhere to health codes, safety regulations, and quality benchmarks.
Assist in training staff on food safety protocols, proper food handling, and hospitality best practices such as bartending and serving when needed.

Qualifications

Proven supervising experience in a fast-paced restaurant or hospitality environment.
Strong background in food preparation, cooking techniques, and food industry standards.
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively.
Extensive restaurant management experience with a focus on kitchen operations.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures.
Experience in hospitality roles such as bartending or serving is a plus.
Excellent communication skills coupled with a passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences.
Ability to thrive under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards.
