Mecaer Aviation Group (MAG) is a leading international provider of solutions for aircraft landing systems, aircraft modifications and completions, MRO & Services in the helicopter, business aviation, and general aviation markets.

Mecaer America Inc. is currently looking for a Project Engineer to join its Engineering team in Laval.

Position Summary

The Project Engineer acts as the Engineering focal point for aerospace development programs and is responsible for coordinating all engineering design activities across multiple disciplines while ensuring customer requirements, schedules, and cost objectives are achieved.

Main Responsibilities

Act as the Engineering focal point for assigned programs
Coordinate design activities between multiple engineering disciplines
Facilitate communication between departments, customers, and suppliers
Ensure engineering deliverables meet customer requirements, budgets, and schedules
Lead project progress meetings, gate reviews, and recurring technical meetings
Maintain and manage Rolling Action Items Lists (RAIL)
Prepare Minutes of Meetings (MoM)
Prepare and present program status updates to executive management
Coordinate technical program activities and engineering deliverables
Approve DRLs (Data Requirement Lists) related to assigned programs
Supervise the design and integration of landing gear systems and components
Support supplier management and coordination activities
Monitor subsystem supplier development, testing, and certification activities
Assist with cost estimation and project planning activities
Develop and manage technical project schedules using MS Project
Support continuous program execution and problem resolution

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in project engineering
Management or leadership training considered an asset
Strong understanding of aerospace development programs from RFP through certification
Strong understanding of landing gear systems and associated methodologies
Knowledge of hydromechanical, electrical, and electromechanical components
Understanding of multidisciplinary aerospace engineering fields including Design, Performance, Stress, Fatigue, Reliability, and Safety
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and MS Project
Strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a team-oriented and customer-focused environment

Sommaire du poste

L’ingénieur de projet agit à titre de point focal de l’ingénierie pour les programmes aéronautiques et est responsable de coordonner l’ensemble des activités de conception entre les différentes disciplines, tout en assurant le respect des exigences clients, des échéanciers et des budgets.

Principales responsabilités

Agir comme point focal de l’ingénierie pour les programmes assignés
Coordonner les activités de conception entre les différentes disciplines d’ingénierie
Faciliter la communication entre les départements, les clients et les fournisseurs
Assurer le respect des exigences clients, des coûts et des échéanciers
Diriger les réunions d’avancement, revues de projet et réunions techniques
Maintenir et gérer les listes RAIL (Rolling Action Items List)
Préparer les comptes rendus de réunions (MoM)
Préparer et présenter les statuts de programme à la direction exécutive
Coordonner les activités techniques et les livrables d’ingénierie
Approuver les DRLs (Data Requirement Lists) liés aux programmes assignés
Superviser la conception et l’intégration des systèmes et composantes de trains d’atterrissage
Participer à la gestion et à la coordination des fournisseurs
Suivre les activités de développement, essais et certification des sous-systèmes fournisseurs
Participer aux estimations de coûts et à la planification des projets
Développer et gérer les échéanciers techniques avec MS Project
Soutenir l’exécution des programmes et la résolution de problèmes techniques

Qualifications

Baccalauréat en génie mécanique ou équivalent
Minimum de 10 ans d’expérience pertinente en ingénierie de projet
Formation en gestion considérée comme un atout
Bonne compréhension des programmes de développement aéronautique, de l’appel d’offres jusqu’à la certification
Bonne compréhension des systèmes de trains d’atterrissage et des méthodologies associées
Connaissance des composantes hydromécaniques, électriques et électromécaniques
Bonne compréhension des différentes disciplines impliquées dans les programmes aéronautiques : conception, performance, stress, fatigue, fiabilité et sécurité
Maîtrise de la suite Microsoft Office et MS Project
Excellentes capacités analytiques et de résolution de problèmes techniques
Aptitude à travailler dans un environnement axé sur le travail d’équipe et le service client
