Position Description
LamSar is seeking an experienced and driven leader to join our Leadership Team as Vice President, Quality.
Reporting directly to the President, this role will be responsible for leading and developing LamSar's quality organization while helping position the company for its next phase of growth. This includes strengthening our quality systems, developing future leaders, supporting major customer relationships, implementing new technologies, expanding certifications and capabilities, and helping drive continuous improvement across the business.
This position extends beyond traditional quality management. The successful candidate will work closely with Operations, Project Management, Procurement, Engineering, Finance, and Leadership to improve project execution, support strategic initiatives, evaluate growth opportunities, and help build the people, systems, and capabilities required for LamSar's future.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Business Growth
- Work closely with the President and Leadership to support LamSar's long-term growth objectives.
- Participate in business planning, customer engagement, facility expansion opportunities, partnerships, and strategic initiatives.
- Help identify opportunities to strengthen LamSar's capabilities through new technologies, certifications, capital investments, strategic partnerships, and future growth opportunities.
- Act as a trusted advisor to leadership by bringing forward ideas, challenging assumptions, and helping solve complex business and operational challenges.
Quality Leadership
- Provide leadership and oversight of LamSar's quality organization, quality systems, certifications, and compliance programs.
- Ensure the company maintains and expands certifications required to support current and future business opportunities.
- Provide oversight of LamSar's welding, inspection, traceability, and quality certification programs to support current and future markets.
- Review quality performance, customer feedback, audits, and improvement initiatives to identify risks and opportunities.
- Lead management reviews and support major customer audits, certification audits, and quality-related investigations as required.
- Serve as LamSar's executive representative on quality-related matters with customers, regulators, certification bodies, and industry organizations.
Operations, Technology & Capability Development
- Work closely with Operations, Project Management, Procurement, Engineering, and Document Control teams to improve project execution, customer satisfaction, and overall business performance.
- Help identify and remove barriers that impact quality, productivity, schedule performance, and project execution.
- Lead the evaluation and implementation of new technologies, automation, equipment, and processes that improve quality, productivity, and competitiveness.
- Participate in major capital equipment decisions and manufacturing improvement initiatives, including automated welding and advanced fabrication technologies.
- Work with Operations to identify and reduce costs associated with rework, non-conformance, inefficiencies, and quality-related project risks.
Supplier & Industry Relationships
- Oversee strategic supplier and subcontractor relationships related to quality services, including NDE, PWHT, coating, laboratory testing, inspection services, and certification bodies.
- Provide oversight of third-party quality services utilized across LamSar operations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, suppliers, subcontractors, regulators, and industry partners that support LamSar's long-term success.
Leadership & Talent Development
- Build, structure, and lead a quality organization capable of supporting LamSar's current operations and future growth plans.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop quality leaders, inspectors, coordinators, and technical specialists.
- Develop a long-term workforce strategy for the quality organization, including succession planning, training, mentorship, and professional development.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and professional development.

Education, Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Education
- Post Secondary Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Manufacturing, Construction Management, Business, Quality Management, or a related discipline.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.), MBA, ASQ certifications, or related professional designations are considered assets.
Experience
- 15+ years of progressive leadership experience within industrial construction, manufacturing, fabrication, modularization, power generation, energy, shipbuilding, or related industries.
- Demonstrated success leading quality organizations, developing teams, and implementing meaningful business improvements.
- Experience with quality systems, certification programs, customer audits, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience within highly regulated industries such as nuclear, power generation, oil & gas, petrochemical, shipbuilding, or heavy industrial markets is considered an asset.
Pay: $180,000.00-$220,000.00 per year
