Salary Details: The salary range for this position is CAD $32.84/Hr. - CAD $32.84/Hr. Job Summary:

Come work as a Rehabilitation Assistant with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) as part of Sechelt Hospital's Physiotherapy team. Apply today to speak to a Talent Acquisition Advisor!

Within the context of a patient/client/resident and family centred care model and in accordance with established vision and values of the organization, this position functions under the operational supervision of the Program Manager, the practice supervision of the Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy Practice Coordinators and the work direction of designated occupational therapist and physiotherapist, in coordination with the other interdisciplinary team members to carry out established rehabilitative activities in both occupational therapy (OT) and physiotherapy (PT) scopes of practice. Responsibilities include receiving assignments and implementing lower risk interventions related to the clinical aspects of OT/PT care plans, demonstrating and teaching activities, adapting devices to enable patients/clients/residents to maximize their potential for independence, providing functional direction to patient/client/residents and family, and assisting with practicing daily living skills. Reports relevant observations of patient/client/resident progress and behaviours, provides direction to volunteers, organizes and cleans equipment and supplies for activities, and maintains established inventory of supplies.

The District Municipality of Sechelt is located on the lower Sunshine Coast of British Columbia, approximately 50 km northwest of Vancouver. It is accessible from the mainland by a 40-minute ferry trip between Horseshoe Bay and Langdale, followed by a 25-minute drive along Highway 101, also known as the Sunshine Coast Highway. This charming seaside community is known for its natural beauty and is a popular destination for outdoor activities including sightseeing, boating, diving, camping and mountain biking. There are also several municipal parks, plenty of eateries, locally owned shops, boutiques and galleries, and a golf course. ABOUT SECHELT HOSPITAL

Sechelt Hospital is an acute care, 46-bed facility located in Sechelt, British Columbia and serves over 30,000+ residents of the Lower Sunshine Coast. Sechelt Hospital provides a full range of services to the community, including Emergency care, Renal program – community dialysis units, Mental Health and Substance Use Services, surgical services, birthing for low-risk pregnancies and imaging services.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

Completion of a recognized Rehabilitation Assistant Program.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to deal with others effectively.
Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
Ability to organize work.
Ability to operate related equipment.
