Full job description

Position: Full Time – Processing and Packaging Technician

Location: St. Thomas, ON

Expected Start Date: As soon as possible

Work Hours: Monday - Friday 8/9 hour shifts during the day typically 6:30am - 3:00pm or 7:00am - 3:30pm

Compensation: $19/hr

Job Description

We are looking for a full-time Processing and Packaging Technician to add to our growing cannabis production company located in St. Thomas, Ontario.
****MUST BE 19 YEARS OR OLDER****

As the Processing and Packaging Technician you will...

Responsible for processing various product(s) derived from the marijuana plant, including but not limited to flower, concentrates and extracts, pre-rolls, edibles, and topicals.
Responsible for ensuring daily production targets are met and counts of finish products are correct.
Perform packaging function for various products. This includes placing products into corresponding package, inserting hydration packs, operating labeling machine and attaching excise stickers.
Assure all cannabis products are free from contamination risk at all processing stages right from propagation to final packaging.
Collaborates with Production Supervisor in daily processing and packaging tasks.
Comply with SOPs for packaging, processing and quality assurance along with Health Canada’s Cannabis Regulations.
Other duties as assigned.

As an experienced professional, you will have...

High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Able to provide a cleared criminal record check.
Ability to accurately count and calculate production products manufactured.
Previous Health Canada Security Clearance and work experience with a Canadian Licensed Producer (LP) is considered as an asset.
Machine operator experience is considered an asset.
Ability to safety lift 50lbs and stand for extended periods of time.
Ability to multi-task, attention to detail, teamwork, professionalism, accountability, and pro- active skills and behavior.

Do you have previous experience working in a regulated environment such as cannabis, food, or pharmaceuticals? If yes, please BRIEFLY describe the type of products you worked with and your specific responsibilities.
Have you worked for a Licensed Producer under Health Canada’s Cannabis Regulations? If yes, what tasks did you perform that required compliance with SOPs and regulatory standards?
Have you operated or maintained production equipment such as labeling machines, packaging lines, or excise stamp applicators?
Are you able to safely lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods (8–9 hours per day) in a production environment?
Have you been trained in or applied Good Production Practices (GPP) or sanitation procedures to prevent product contamination?
Are you legally entitled to work in Canada?
When are you available to start?
Are you available to work full time - Monday - Friday during the day? Either 6:30 am - 3:00pm pr 7:00am - 3:30pm, and have reliable transportation (CAR)?
Are you able to understand and communicate in English at a level necessary to perform the duties of this role (including reading SOPs, completing documentation, and following verbal instructions)?
This position requires daily written and verbal communication in English for compliance with Health Canada regulations. Do you meet this requirement?
