Full job description

This position will include the responsibilities of a Environmental Engineer for the type of environmental engineering services undertaken by Alpha Adroit . More information on the kind of environmental services we provide is available at Alpha Adroit's Environmental Engineering and Restoration Services.

This position may require traveling across Alberta, Saskatchewan, and British Columbia. Having a Class 5 driver's license is a MUST, and the candidate may be required to drive company vehicles.

The successful candidate will have a high level of care, demonstrated through careful attention to details and a great sense of urgency to get things done correctly and quickly, right the first time, in a calm and professional manner. The successful candidate shall be dedicated to the excellence of the work he/she will be doing and is always punctual and ready to do the required tasks.

As for any other learning task, the learning happens when the learners eagerly pay attention and actively engage in the learning process, mainly done by themselves and during their own time. We provide some resources, training, and educational material.

Technical Skills:

- having a degree in civil, geo-environmental, or geotechnical engineering or related field- preferably from a Canadian University
- having passed Ethics and Law exam (APEGA's or equivalent) within three months after employment
- environmental consulting services for the mining industry is considered an asset
- ability to classify different local soils and rocks visually with reasonable accuracy is considered an asset
- environmental sustainability consulting experience is considered an asset
- drilling experience and good knowledge of the local geology of Alberta, Saskatchewan, and British Columbia is viewed as an asset
- previous work experience in conducting environmental site assessment (Phase 1 ESA and Phase 2 ESA) is considered an asset

The ideal candidate would also have the following requirements:

- The successful candidate will be punctual and possess good character and attitude- can get along with all kinds of personalities.
- The successful candidate will be a fluent English Speaker, as well as, a competent technical English writer.

Other Requirements:

- Proficient in using Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
- Perform other related duties as required, these duties may not be under the category of environmental engineer
- Minute taking and note taking skills
- Time management skills
- Conflict resolution skills and ability to handle difficult communications, including also client satisfaction communications, in a professional manner
