Cook / Line CookJob Overview

We are looking for a reliable and motivated Part-Time Cook / Line Cook to join our culinary team.

The ideal candidate has previous kitchen experience, takes pride in preparing quality food, and can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for preparing and cooking menu items according to established recipes and standards while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe kitchen.

We are looking for someone who works well as part of a team, communicates effectively, and understands the importance of consistency, food quality, and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines
Set up and stock assigned stations before service, ensuring proper mise en place
Maintain consistent food quality, presentation, and portion control
Ensure orders are prepared accurately and in a timely manner
Monitor food levels and communicate preparation needs to the kitchen team
Follow proper food storage, labeling, rotation, and FIFO procedures
Minimize food waste and use ingredients responsibly
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation throughout the shift
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
Assist with receiving deliveries, organizing stock, and inventory control as required
Use kitchen equipment safely and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly
Communicate and collaborate with other kitchen and restaurant team members to ensure smooth service
Assist other kitchen stations and team members during busy periods as needed
Complete opening, closing, and cleaning duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience

Previous experience as a Cook, Line Cook, Prep Cook, or similar kitchen position is preferred
Restaurant or hotel kitchen experience is an asset
Good understanding of basic cooking techniques, food preparation, knife skills, and kitchen equipment
Knowledge of food safety and safe food-handling practices
Ability to follow recipes, portion standards, and preparation procedures
Ability to work efficiently and remain organized during busy service periods
Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality
Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team
Good communication and organizational skills
Food Safety/Food Handler certification is an asset, or willingness to obtain certification
