Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier to join our team in a dynamic retail environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong customer service skills and have experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for providing excellent service to our customers while accurately processing transactions and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area.

Duties

Operate the cash register and handle cash transactions accurately, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed.
Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries.
Upsell products and promote special offers to enhance the shopping experience.
Maintain knowledge of store promotions, product locations, and inventory levels to assist customers effectively.
Perform merchandising tasks by organizing displays and stocking shelves as needed.
Ensure the checkout area is clean, organized, and well-stocked at all times.
Handle phone inquiries with professionalism and courtesy, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette.
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours.

Requirements

Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred.
Familiarity with POS systems and basic math skills for accurate transaction processing.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with customers and team members.
Ability to demonstrate merchandising skills and maintain an appealing store environment.
Knowledge of retail math concepts to assist in inventory management and sales tracking.
