About the Role

As a Cook at Long Beach Lodge Resort, you’ll take the lead on the cold side of the kitchen - crafting fresh salads, stunning desserts, and artisanal pizzas with care and creativity. This is a key position for setting the tone and consistency of each guest’s dining experience. A strong team player with solid fundamentals on this station brings tremendous value to the overall kitchen flow.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and plate items for the pizza, salad, and dessert stations with attention to detail and consistency
Ensure mise en place is maintained and refreshed throughout service
Execute proper preparation, handling, and storage of ingredients to meet food safety and quality standards
Maintain cleanliness and organization of all prep and service areas
Assist with menu prep, specials, and service support across other stations as needed
Communicate with kitchen leadership on inventory, prep needs, and service timing
Uphold kitchen OH&S and FOODSAFE standards
Contribute to a safe, positive, and team-oriented work environment

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of professional kitchen experience (garde manger or wood-fired pizza experience is a bonus)
FOODSAFE Level 1
A strong sense of pride in plating and presentation
Energetic, dependable, and ready to support your team
Excellent knife skills and a keen eye for freshness and detail
Flexible, coachable, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
Red Seal Certification an asset but not required

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, and be active for up to 10 hours per shift
Able to lift up to 50 lbs
Frequent bending, kneeling, lifting, pushing, and pulling
Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps

Staff Housing

Limited staff accommodation may be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Availability is not guaranteed. Shared accommodations include access to kitchen facilities, laundry, and Wi-Fi. Priority may be given to full-time staff or those without local housing options.

Additional Requirements

Criminal Record Check: Required prior to start date.
Reference Check: Two professional references will be contacted.
Driver’s Abstract: Required for roles involving use of company vehicles or driving duties.
Signed Staff Manual Agreement: required as part of onboarding, confirming understanding of workplace expectations and policies
