ABOUT THE ROLE

Pay Range: $48,000 - $53,000

HACCP / SQF Programs
Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures
Pest Control
Good Manufacturing Practices
Approved Supplier Program (raw material audits)
Foreign Material Control
Allergen Program management
Plant Sanitation
Chemical Control
Product Quality Assurance (this involves sample preparation, cook test, visual, organoleptic and possibly tasting of products) – candidate must be able to eat meat and fish/seafood products
Product quality (visual standards, label standards, adherence to specifications)
FSQA Customer Complaints review and answer
Food Defense and Security
Assist in Employee Training of FSQA Programs, Policies and Procedures
Assist in Implementation of Independent FSQA Audit Program – SQF Audits
Provide assistance when necessary for product evaluations, plant visits, and supplier/customer communication to assist other staff members.
Assist as needed in any manner capable of during emergency situations the plant GM determines are paramount to the business
Secondary contact for food regulatory agencies (specifically CFIA)
Finished product specifications
Obtaining raw material ingredient specifications
Assist in completion of other QA Department functions
Available to work flexible hours as needed by the business
Responsible for compliance with all Policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) comprising Sysco’s Food Safety Program, specific for the assigned role.
Assist Food Safety Program Manager in ensuring compliance to Sysco’s Food Safety Program that leads to compliance with third party certification and customer requirements.
Is willing to work safely with minimal environmental impact and understands the importance of reporting all hazards, incidents, and environmental spills immediately to their Supervisor.
Understands that they play an integral role in their own safety and that of their colleagues and is willing to speak out when hazards are present.
Perform other duties as assigned.
