Job description:

Kanafani Sweets & Coffee's Scarborough location is hiring a Junior Pastry Chef to join our kitchen team. You'll help prepare our signature Middle Eastern desserts and sweets and support day-to-day kitchen operations, working alongside an experienced team that will train you on our recipes and standards.

What you'll do:

Prepare Kanafani's signature desserts and sweets to our exact standards
Measure and prep ingredients for daily production
Follow recipes closely to keep taste and quality consistent
Support general kitchen prep and production throughout the day
Keep your station and the kitchen clean, organized, and sanitary
Stock and rotate ingredients and supplies
Follow food safety and sanitation protocols at all times
Jump in and support the team during busy rushes

What we're looking for:

Experience in a restaurant, café, dessert kitchen, or similar setting is a plus, but not required
Basic understanding of food or dessert prep
Valid Food Handler Certificate (required)
Dependable, organized, and eager to learn
Able to keep pace in a fast-moving kitchen
Able to stand for extended periods and handle physical kitchen work

Job Type: Part-time
Work Location: In person

Pay: $17.60-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15.0 – 30.0 per week
