About the Role:

As a Furniture Sales Associate, you will play a pivotal role in delivering an exceptional shopping experience to customers by guiding them through our diverse range of furniture products. Your primary objective is to understand customer needs and preferences, provide expert advice, and assist in selecting furniture that enhances their living or working spaces. You will be responsible for maintaining product knowledge, managing inventory displays, and ensuring the sales floor is welcoming and organized. This role requires a balance of interpersonal skills and sales acumen to meet and exceed sales targets while fostering long-term customer relationships. Ultimately, your efforts will contribute to the overall success and reputation of our store within the Canadian market.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in retail sales.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Basic proficiency with point-of-sale systems and inventory management.

Preferred Qualifications:

Post-secondary education in sales, marketing, or a related field.
Experience with interior design or home staging.
Knowledge of furniture manufacturing materials and processes.

Responsibilities:

Greet and engage customers promptly and professionally to understand their furniture needs and preferences.
Provide detailed product information, including materials, dimensions, and care instructions, to assist customers in making informed decisions.
Demonstrate furniture features and benefits, and suggest complementary products to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales.
Process sales transactions accurately using point-of-sale systems and handle customer inquiries or concerns with empathy and efficiency.
Maintain the sales floor by organizing displays, restocking merchandise, and ensuring a clean and inviting environment.
Collaborate with team members and management to achieve individual and store sales goals.
Stay updated on current furniture trends, promotions, and inventory changes to provide accurate information to customers.

The required skills such as effective communication and interpersonal abilities are essential for understanding customer needs and building rapport, which directly influences sales success. Proficiency with point-of-sale systems and inventory management tools ensures smooth transaction processing and accurate stock tracking. Bilingual communication skills facilitate serving a broader customer base in Canada, improving inclusivity and service quality.
