Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Liquor General Manager to lead our retail liquor store operations with enthusiasm and precision. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily store activities, manage inventory, and ensure an exceptional customer experience. Your leadership will drive sales growth, maintain compliance with legal regulations, and foster a motivated team dedicated to excellence. Duties

Lead and supervise all store operations, including sales, merchandising, and customer service initiatives
Manage purchasing and inventory control to ensure optimal stock levels of liquor products while minimizing waste
Oversee pricing strategies and promotional activities to maximize sales and profitability
Train, develop, and motivate staff on sales techniques, product knowledge, POS (Point of Sale) systems, cash handling, and customer engagement
Conduct regular merchandising audits to maintain attractive displays that enhance product visibility and appeal
Handle payroll processing, scheduling, and administrative tasks such as bookkeeping and record-keeping
Ensure compliance with all legal regulations related to alcohol sales and store licensing requirements
Negotiate with vendors for purchasing agreements, discounts, or special promotions to benefit the store’s bottom line
Implement marketing strategies to attract new customers and retain loyal clients through community engagement or special events
Maintain excellent communication with team members through effective phone etiquette and organizational skills

Experience

Proven supervisory or managerial experience in retail sales or store management, preferably within the beverage or liquor industry
Strong background in merchandising, pricing strategies, sales management, and marketing techniques
Demonstrated ability in recruiting, training & development of staff, as well as team leadership skills
Experience with POS systems, cash handling procedures, bookkeeping, and payroll processing
Excellent negotiation skills coupled with bilingual or multilingual abilities are highly desirable for diverse customer interactions
Familiarity with legal regulations surrounding alcohol licensing and sales compliance
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory control and administrative tasks
Effective communication skills for engaging customers and leading a team in a fast-paced environment
