Full job description

Ajax Mitsubishi is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to take full ownership of our accounting operations. This is a hands-on leadership role for a motivated, detail-oriented professional who can step in and run the department with confidence and minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee all day-to-day accounting operations, including AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger
Manage and reconcile monthly financial statements and reporting
Prepare and review month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes
Maintain accurate schedules, including inventory, floorplan, and intercompany accounts
Ensure compliance with OEM requirements, internal policies, and accounting standards
Monitor cash flow, expenses, and profitability metrics
Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and financial institutions
Implement and improve accounting processes, controls, and efficiencies

Qualifications

3–5+ years of accounting / bookkeeping / financial controller experience in an automotive dealership (required or strongly preferred)
Strong understanding of dealership accounting practices & principles
Experience with CDK Global/Drive (preferred)
Ability to work independently, and take full ownership of the accounting function
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
