We are seeking to add a full-time experienced Legal Administrative Assistant to support our Commercial Finance Team. Our legal administrative assistants are crucial to the success of our firm and we are looking for someone who is not only a team player but possesses superior organizational and interpersonal skills, the ability to handle a high volume of work with tight deadlines and a keen attention to detail. This is an in-office position.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Preparation of security documents for commercial purchases. This position focuses on lender side financing;
Document editing, file maintenance and management, time entry and billing;
Performing a variety of searches including Personal Property Registry, LTSA, and taxes;
Managing calendars and bring forward systems to ensure important deadlines are met;
Liaise with other legal assistants, paralegals, lawyers and clients regarding file progress;
Provide overflow assistance to legal assistants, paralegals and lawyers;
Other administrative duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in a legal environment or equivalent administrative experience;
Commercial lending or conveyancing experience considered an asset;
Legal Administrative Assistant certification from an accredited institution, or equivalent education;
Strong computer and technical skill including proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office;
Strong verbal and written communication skills;
Ability to prioritize work and manage time effectively;
Highly developed interpersonal skills, including a keen ability to communicate in a courteous, professional and mature manner;
Sound judgment regarding confidential and sensitive matters;
Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and adaptable.

Competitive compensation: The salary range for this role is $48,000 – $65,000 per annum. Within this range, individual pay is determined by market rates, job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training, and an internal equity review of the salaries of other employees

Benefits Package: benefits package which includes a Health and Dental plan, an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), TELUS Health, as well as an RRSP Program after one year of employment with the firm

Paid Time Off: vacation time starts at 3 weeks, and 10 sick days per year

HOURS OF WORK

This position is Monday to Friday starting at 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. This is a 7-hour paid day, 35-hour work week. This is an in-office position.
