Position Summary
We are seeking a Senior Rebar Detailer / Project Coordinator (Bilingual – English & French) to join our team. This position is responsible for producing accurate rebar shop drawings, coordinating projects between engineering, fabrication, and construction teams, and ensuring all project documentation is completed accurately and on schedule.
The successful candidate will work closely with engineers, contractors, fabrication staff, and customers to deliver high-quality reinforcement detailing while managing multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment.
This role is ideal for candidates with extensive rebar detailing experience, strong project coordination skills, and fluency in both English and French.
Please note: Mansteel Rebar Ltd. does not require Canadian work experience as part of its hiring criteria.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed rebar shop drawings and fabrication drawings using AutoCAD, RebarCAD, and Bluebeam.
- Review structural drawings, engineering specifications, and project documentation to ensure compliance with customer requirements and industry standards.
- Coordinate project activities between engineers, project managers, fabrication shops, field personnel, and customers.
- Manage multiple detailing projects simultaneously while maintaining accurate records of revisions, approvals, RFIs, and project correspondence.
- Interpret structural and architectural drawings to produce accurate reinforcement detailing and bar lists.
- Communicate effectively with customers, contractors, consultants, and internal departments in both English and French.
- Coordinate drawing revisions and ensure fabrication packages are issued on schedule.
- Perform quality control reviews to verify drawing accuracy, constructability, and compliance with company standards.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior detailers when required.
- Support project managers by tracking project milestones, resolving detailing issues, and ensuring timely project delivery.
- Maintain organized project files and documentation throughout all stages of each project.
- Contribute to continuous process improvements that enhance detailing accuracy, workflow efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in rebar detailing and project coordination.
- Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD, RebarCAD, and Bluebeam.
- Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete construction, structural drawings, reinforcement detailing, and fabrication processes.
- Experience coordinating multiple projects within a fast-paced construction environment.
- Ability to accurately interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Fluent in both English and French (spoken and written) – Required.
- Experience working directly with fabrication shops and construction teams is considered a strong asset.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
