Title: Industrial Mechanic/Millwright

Reports to: Shop Forman

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Under the direction of Supervision, the Industrial Mechanic(Millwright)engages in centrifuge repair and restoration with engineering supplied blue prints to meet the production goals in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Requires an individual with a high degree of experience and who is very quality-minded. Work is varied and custom.

The Job is a Dayshift 7:00am to 3:30pm

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Industrial Mechanic/Millwright is responsible for installing, assembling, dismantling, and cleaning machinery, conveyor systems, pulleys, mechanical clutches, gear boxes, hydraulic and pneumatic control systems.

· Transport and locate machines and equipment to the desired location as directed using fork lifts, hoists, winches, cranes and other equipment.

· Disassemble & assemble machines or equipment from their component parts.

· The Industrial Mechanic /Millwright must understand how a machine functions to assemble and disassemble it properly; this may involve knowledge of electronics, pneumatics, and computer systems.

· The Millwright will use complex instruction books that detail the assembly of the machinery and use tools such as levels, welding machines, and torque wrenches.

· The Millwright uses micrometers and other precision measuring devices to achieve the extreme tolerances required and determine appropriate fits for bearings and seals.

· On large projects, the use of cranes is common.

· Other items deemed necessary by management.

· QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

· Three(3) years of documented experience as a Industrial mechanic/Millwright

· Ability, with or without reasonable accommodation, to work overtime, including daily, weekends and holidays as required

· Basic knowledge of mathematics, algebra and physics

· Ability to work from layout plans, blueprints, drawings or other specifications to determine work procedures

· Ability and knowledge to dismantle machines, using hammers, wrenches, crowbars and other hand tools

· Ability and knowledge in welding including arc, acetylene and hydrogen

· Ability to properly move machinery and equipment, using hoists, dollies, rollers and trucks

· Ability and knowledge to properly use tools and equipment such as drill presses, power saws, chain falls, jacks, skids, slings, burning torches, and other types of portable and hand tools

· Ability to clean, lubricate, or adjust parts, equipment, or machinery

· Perform incidental tasks as required to complete the larger task

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· Ability to provide mechanical support to locate and diagnose trouble in mechanical systems or equipment

· Ability to complete required preventive maintenance at defined intervals on all mechanical equipment

· Ability to perform tasks historically assigned to other mechanical classifications (i.e., Pipefitter, Machine Repair)

· Perform other duties as required to meet the needs of the Company

· Must have own tools

· Centrifuge experience is an asset

· Journey-level skill and knowledge as a Millwright/Industrial mechanic.

MARGINAL DUTIES:

Operate overhead crane, miscellaneous types of cranes and forklift.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

· To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

· EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

· High school diploma or equivalent education.

· Demonstrated mechanical ability.

- Industrial Mechanic /Millwright Ticket

· Three or more years Millwright experience, preferably in a machine shop.

· Communication skills with supervisor, engineer, and peers.

· Shop Safety knowledge.
