Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional customer service while preparing and serving high-quality beverages and food items. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, engaging with customers and contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. Prior experience in the food industry or as a barista is preferred, but we are willing to train motivated individuals. The position involves handling cash transactions, maintaining food safety standards, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Duties

Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and specialty drinks using standard recipes and equipment
Operate POS systems such as Micros POS for accurate order processing and cash handling
Take customer orders efficiently while providing friendly service
Handle cash transactions accurately and balance cash register at the end of each shift
Maintain cleanliness of the work area, including food preparation stations and dining spaces
Follow food safety guidelines during food handling and preparation
Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth operation during shifts
Assist in serving food items and managing customer requests promptly
Ensure adherence to health regulations and safety standards at all times

Skills

Previous Barista experience or background in the food industry is preferred
Proficiency with POS systems, especially Micros POS, for order processing and cashiering
Strong customer service skills with a friendly, approachable attitude
Excellent time management skills to handle multiple orders efficiently during busy periods
Basic math skills for cash handling, giving correct change, and managing register totals
Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
Ability to perform food preparation tasks accurately and quickly
Effective communication skills to interact positively with customers and team members
