Job Summary
Responsible for reprocessing and sterilization of medical supplies, instruments, and equipment used in patient care. Performs decontamination, cleaning, inspection, assembly, packaging and sterilization of reusable medical devices while maintaining accurate documentation and inventory controls. Ensures compliance with departmental policies, procedures, and infection prevention standards to support safe, high quality patient care.
Qualifications and Experience
- Successful completion of a high school diploma or recognized equivalent.
- MDRAO Medical Device Reprocessing Techniques Certificate required.
- Minimum 1-year recent experience in sterilization and instrument reprocessing in a hospital setting is preferred.
- CSAO membership required.
- Knowledge of Best Practices for Prevention and Control of Infection in Health Care Settings.
- Knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information Systems (WHMIS).

- Able to meet the physical demands of the job including - standing, sweeping, pushing/pulling, reaching forward and above and below the shoulders, able to lift up to 23 kg. and manual dexterity.

Hours of Work: Monday through Friday Days with some on call requirements.
