Full job description

Wage to be negotiated based on relevant experience, in accordance to pre-established pay scales

Competencies:

Must have strong Mechanical aptitude
Must have superior color matching skills
Must have strong organizational skills
Must have a demonstrated strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal
Must be a proven team player with good interpersonal skills (people skills)
Must have proven ability and willingness to train and mentor Employees
Must have the ability and willingness to work scheduled shifts
Must have the ability to lift items of 401bs and perform duties involving repetitive stretching motions and standing

Requirements:

Must have Meet all Pre Employment Requirements

Preferred:

Flexo Printing experience
Understanding of printing and production terminology

Overview

The Pressman is responsible for the operation of the press and for the quality and quantity of work performed on that press.

Operates and oversees all activities of the press; approves all decisions involving print quality
Ensure the ticket information, roll stock, cylinders, proofs, color information, plates mounted, are correct prior to set up
Sets up the press; prepares and checks controls, supplies, impression setting, web path, all perfing requirements, die cutting is set
Consumes material in Label Traxx as required accounting for all material used
Checks samples from each roll confirming colour, registration, rewind number, and all measurements are in spec
Completes all records on the ticket envelope as required
Trouble shoots Print issues on Press
Ensures all information about the machine and order is passed ono the next shift
Ensures all equipment is kept clean and stored properly
Ensures that all necessary ISO paper work is filled out as required

Abides by all Management System policies, follows procedures, work instructions and other requirements including adherence to EH&S Act regulations.
Obligation to take any necessary steps/actions to continue adherence to the Management System (quality and environmental). If the necessary steps are outside assigned authority, there is an obligation to bring the issue to his/her Supervisor.
Performs other duties as required by the Manager/Supervisor
