Full job description

Job Title: Printing Press Assistant

Salary: $22.88/hr

Location: Aurora, On
Shifts: Shifts are Mon-Fri, rotating between nights, afternoons, and days every 2 weeks

(the night shift is from Sun-Thurs)

Summary:
Assist the press operator in setting up, operating, and maintaining printing presses to ensure efficient production.

Key Responsibilities:

· Support press operator with job setup, tear-down, and changeovers

· Manage ink and solvents, including cleaning and refilling as needed

· Move raw materials to and from the press area

· Remove and handle printed materials and waste rolls for recycling or disposal

· Remove and install cylinders and rollers

· Maintain work area cleanliness and follow safety and quality procedures

· Meet daily production goals and complete assigned tasks on schedule

Qualifications:

· Good communication and organizational skills

· Basic reading, writing, and mechanical skills

· Ability to use hand tools and follow written instructions

· Team-oriented and dependable

Physical Requirements:

· Lift up to 50 lbs frequently; push/pull up to 100 lbs occasionally

· Stand for extended periods; frequent bending, reaching, and walking

· Work in non-climate-controlled environments and around solvents/inks

Work Conditions:

· 12-hour shifts, exposure to hot/cool conditions and solvent fumes

· Required PPE: steel-toe boots, hearing protection, safety glasses, gloves, hair/beard nets
