Full job description

Redtail is a world renowned golf course known for its high quality of services and conditioning. We are currently looking for a candidate who would be interested in joining our team as an Irrigation Technician.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Irrigation Technician to join our golf course maintenance team for a year round position. The successful candidate will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of the golf course irrigation system, with a strong preference for experience working with Rain Bird systems (especially IC or Cirrus). This position plays a key role in ensuring optimal turf health and water management across the property. Pay will be determined based off experience and knowledge.

Day will begin at 7:00 am and conclude at 3:30 pm on average. Longer days and 50 + hours per week may be required based on current renovation projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot the golf course irrigation system, including central control and field components (decoders, valves, heads, sensors).
Perform regular system checks and preventative maintenance to ensure full functionality and water efficiency.
Repair or replace irrigation system components including sprinklers, valves, controllers, wiring, and piping as needed.
Maintain accurate records of water usage, repairs, parts inventory, and programming changes.
Collaborate with the Superintendent and Assistants on irrigation planning, scheduling, and moisture management.
Use moisture meters, weather data, and turf conditions to inform irrigation needs.
Assist with the training of staff on proper hand-watering and supplemental irrigation practices.
Support overall golf course maintenance as required, including hand-watering, small equipment operation, and turf repairs.
