Full job description

Northumberland Lamb Marketing Co-operative Ltd. is a federally inspected lamb processing facility located in Bible Hill, Nova Scotia. Established in 1982, we are proudly 100% farmer-owned and committed to producing high-quality Canadian lamb products for customers across Atlantic Canada and beyond.

We are currently seeking a motivated Industrial Meat Cutter to join our growing team. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in producing quality products, works well in a team environment, and is committed to maintaining high standards of food safety and workmanship.

Responsibilities

Cut, trim, debone, and prepare lamb carcasses and primal cuts to company specifications
Produce consistent, high-quality cuts while minimizing trim loss
Operate knives, saws, and other meat processing equipment safely and efficiently
Package and prepare products for shipment
Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment in accordance with federal food safety requirements
Follow all workplace health and safety procedures
Assist with receiving, processing, and handling fresh lamb products
Work efficiently as part of the production team to meet daily production targets

Qualifications

Previous experience as an industrial meat cutter, butcher, or meat processing worker is preferred
Experience processing lamb, beef, pork, or other red meat is considered an asset
Ability to safely use knives and meat processing equipment
Strong attention to detail and product quality
Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 25 kg and standing for extended periods
Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively in a team environment
Commitment to food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety
