Full job description

Husky Foods a leading Canadian company in the importation, distribution and marketing of the best quality specialty and natural consumer packaged goods. Husky has been dedicated to developing and delivering “Best in Class” products to Canadians for over 50 years through an experienced and committed management and sales team. Privately held, Husky operates from a company owned, modern and efficient warehouse, ideally situated in the greater Toronto area. The Company services a variety of trade channels including grocery, mass merchandise, specialty, convenience, drug, and club.

The Brand Manager, Trade Marketing role reports to the Director. This role will take their passion for building brands at retail to the next level by leveraging insights from consumer, category, competition and trends to build strong go-to-market plans that drive brand growth.

Duties

Manages trade spend budget and oversees allocation to achieve brand/company goals in sales and market share, including promotional deals, POS, swag, trade show materials, branded assets at retail locations and retail activation programs.
Oversees and collaborates in the development of sales materials, category selling stories, and brand specific business plan presentations for Sales team.
Maintains in-depth understanding of the consumer, category, competition, and trends and transforms into insights and opportunities to grow brands.
Reviewing and analyzing data to provide costing & pricing recommendations.
Partnering with Sales to review and approve retail marketing programs and promotions and analyzing program results to make recommendations for continual improvement.
Establishing distribution and targets for brands.
Provides strategic input into the overall short and long-term new product development agenda including special formats and/ or new product launches.
Reviewing products in market, and rationalizing skus where needed to maximize success of brands at retailers.
Partnering with Brand Marketing to review and approve consumer facing programs and promotions, and analyzing promotion results to make recommendations for continual improvement.
Develops, leads and executes strategic business plans for Core and Emerging brands to deliver against annual brand targets. Business planning will include; go-to-market strategies, budgeting, promotion planning and execution, demand planning, as well as market research.
Collaborating with Sales on joint business plans with retailers to achieve the total business plan.
Provides guidance on forecasting for innovations and promotional programs working in close collaboration with Sales Operations, Brand Management and Procurement
Other duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS:

2-3+ year of trade marketing/ sales strategy experience; consumer packaged goods experience within the food industry ideal.
Post Secondary Education (Business, Finance, Marketing, or related).
In depth knowledge of CPG and Grocery Retail industry.
Strong business and financial acumen, strategic thinking, tactical execution and analytical skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office- including Excel- Pivot Tables, V-Look Up and advanced data analytic capabilities
Ease with managing clients and presenting to partners and stakeholders.
Experience with syndicated data (i.e., Nielsen or IRI) and category management.
Proficiency with retail POS data platforms such as IRI, Precima, and Retail Link., Loblaw POS LDIA
